Why donate to the museum, especially in today's economy? Our highest aspirations for our children start very close to home. We nurture their dreams, build their character, and turn hope for a brighter future into reality.

Far from only “child’s play,” what happens in a children’s museum is profoundly important. In a setting where there are no wrong answers, no time limits and tests, children are free to do what they do best: imagine, explore and experiment. Kids are natural scientists, inventors and pioneers, but in today’s world, the kind of unstructured play time many adults fondly recall is very scarce.

It will take a considerable amount of work, mostly by volunteers, to create the exhibits and programs that will make up DUCM.  But they will be inspired to do the same thing we want for our children: to utilize interests and abilities, to learn new things and grow, and to invest energies in creating positive experiences that in turn build a community.
