To develop an interactive, hands-on, exciting Children's Museum that will entertain and educate the children, families and visitors of St. Mary's County and its surrounding communities.

Discover U Children’s Museum (DUCM) will:

• be a fully functioning children's museum with a stand-alone building that is highly utilized by the community and its surrounding areas
• have a wide base of funding coming from grants, corporate sponsorship, donations and admissions
• have a strong volunteer base that will offer continuing support and guidance
• operate as a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation with a dynamic board of directors drawn from all sectors of the community

Discover U’s visions and values are deeply rooted in the belief that children learn through play.  That when children climb and move, touch and see, draw, create, or build, they are also exploring, making decisions, developing confidence, and figuring out who they are  and how their world works.  “Children need time to stretch, run, jump, giggle and socially connect in an unstructured environment with their peers.  It is part of the pure joy of being a child."
